Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21 1982) is an acclaimed American actor. Most notably, she was the character Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington Ohio in order to settle with her family in Los Angeles. She landed her debut role as Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001 despite struggling financially. Her performance in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. film Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her an award nomination for the Young Artist Award. In 2004 Grace was cast as Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost in which she acted as a principal character for the initial two seasons. She was also awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace left the television series in 2005 to pursue an even more prominent role in films, having appeared opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. In addition, she appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. She reprised her role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern version of Lewis Carroll's classic novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character of Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth episode of Californication. She portrays Faith as an admirer and muse to the celebrities. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal family, she's the daughter and older sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager, she played small parts in her father's movies and she co-starred alongside her twin brother on Donnie Darko the cult classic. Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, both 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for a Golden Globe Award in both the romantic comedy Sherrybaby (2005) as well as the romance comedy Secretary (2002). The two films were critically acclaimed. She gained wider recognition for her role as Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films she starred in the year the year 2006. Following her acclaimed performance as a single mother on the screen in Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The following year, she starred in dramatics and comedies: Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (2012).
